Living
Food Preference:Carnivorous.
Crustacean ectoparasites, dead tissue, and mucus of other fishes.
Must be kept with other fish of a different genus.
The cleaner wrasse is an obligate, symbiont, which means that it gets almost all of it's nutrition (obligate) from the animals that it cleans (symbiosis).
May also accept other meaty foods such as brine shrimp, chopped sea foods, and live black worms.

Minimum School Size:1 to 3 fish will occupy one cleaning station in the wild.
Setup:Provide crevasses or niches in rock work for them to sleep and hide.
They will sleep in a bed of a slime secretion that will float to the top in the morning.

Distribution:Indo-Pacific Oceans.
Range from the Red Sea to East Africa.

Found along the Great Barrier Reef in small coral outcroppings or even in tide pools.
