Living

Food Preference:Omnivorous.
A diet of mostly vegetable matter, such as spirulina flakes or pellets, is preferred.
Supplement diet with earthworms, blood worms and brine shrimp, fresh zucchini, peas, spinach, and romaine lettuce.
Eats algae, micro-fauna, and plankton in the wild.
Malawi bloat can set in if fed too much protein and fat.

Setup:Provide plenty of rocky caves and a deep, fine grain substrate as this fish is known to dig.
